Q.How do I get started?
A.
After you have downloaded ID Vault to your iPhone, double click on the icon and you will be guided through the following steps:
  • Set your PIN - select and confirm a 4 digit PIN number that you will enter each time you access ID Vault
  • Set your Password - select and confirm a password that you will use to add an additional level of security to selected accounts (for example, your bank account)
  • On the 'Account List' page tap the icon in the top left corner
  • Browse to the log in page of a Web site where you have an account
  • Tap the icon on the lower left corner on the browser toolbar. This will turn on the 'record' function which is indicated by a flashing red button at the top of the screen
  • Log in to your account and ID Vault will display the 'Account Details' screen with the log in details for this account. Edit or add additional information to the page as desired
  • To log in to this account again, simply tap it once on the 'Account List' and ID Vault will automatically log you in.
Q.How do I add an account to my ID Vault?
A.
Follow these steps to add an account
  • Click the ID Vault icon to open the application
  • Enter your PIN
  • Read the instructions, then click "Next"
  • Browse to the login page of the Web site where you have an account
  • Tap the icon on the lower left corner on the browser toolbar. This will turn on the 'record' function which is indicated by a flashing red button at the top of the screen
  • Log in to your account and ID Vault will display the 'Account Details' screen with the log in details for this account. Edit or add additional information to the page as desired
Q.How do I create an account for a site which uses multiple page log-ins, such as Bank of America?

A. ID Vault works the same way for multiple page logins. Once you tap on the icon in the toolbar, ID Vault records each step of the log in process including your secret questions and answers and populates this information in the Account Details page for this account. To avoid getting asked security questions each time you log in, make sure to tell the website to 'remember this device'.

Q.How do I delete an account from the ID Vault for iPhone?

A. On the Account List page, tap the Edit button in the upper right hand corner, then on the red icon to the left of the account that you want to delete. The delete button will appear on the right. Tap 'Delete' to remove the account, then 'Done' to return to the standard Account List page.

Q.Why does ID Vault let me create an account if I don't enter the corrent user name and password?

A. ID Vault records and stores whatever you enter in the log in fields. After the Account Details page appears, tap the 'Edit' button in the upper right hand corner. You can then modify any information on the page.

Q.My site says I need to have Adobe Flash installed. What is this?

A. Flash and Ajax are web components which are used by some websites. The iPhone is not compatible with these components so any site which uses them cannot be displayed on the iPhone. For this reason, sites that use Flash in the log in page cannot be added to ID Vault.

Q.Can I sync with the ID Vault on my home computer?

A. At this time, ID Vault does not have the ability to synchronize with other devices. This functionally may be added in a future release.

Q.Can I backup my stored account information?

A. At this time, there is not a way to back up your account information from the iPhone. This functionality may be added in a future release.

Q.How can I find my ID Vault for iPhone software version number?

A. From the Account List page, tap the "Settings" icon on the toolbar, then "About".

Q.How will I know if there is an update available, and how do I update my ID Vault?

A. You will be notified when updates are available when you sync your iPhone with iTunes. The App Store icon will display a red number in an oval on your main screen when an update is available. To download the update, tap on the App Store icon, then tap on ID Vault in the list of updates. Tap the "Free" button, then "Install" to download the update.

Q.What are some common issues I may experience?

A. Occasionally, ID Vault may not support the Web site login where you have an account. In this case, ID Vault will display a dialog asking whether you wish to store your account information manually. If you tap 'Yes', you will need to enter your information manually into the Account Details page. When you want to log in to an account where you've entered credentials manually, you will need to copy and paste your user name and password from the Account Details page into the log in form.
