Guard ID Systems Launches ID Vault 2008

The world’s first hardware-based Internet security device for consumers now delivers enhanced security, better performance, and increased convenience

SAN MATEO, Calif. – September 18, 2007 – Guard ID Systems, Inc., the pioneer of hardware-based security for online transactions, today announced the launch of ID Vault 2008. The new version of ID Vault has been reinforced with enhanced security features to safeguard consumers’ online finances when they bank, shop and invest online.

The ID Vault Trusted Network now includes more than 7,000 financial sites and 500 top shopping sites to ensure that consumers are protected from phishing and pharming attacks as they bank and shop online. ID Vault 2008 now encrypts and stores credit card information for added security and convenience when consumers make purchases online. In addition, ID Vault 2008 includes a redesigned and streamlined user interface, making it easier to add, manage, and sign in to online accounts securely.

“ID Vault 2008 offers valuable new security features to defend consumers from sophisticated schemes designed to steal their online identities and perpetrate financial fraud,” said Jerry Thompson, CEO of Guard ID Systems. “We’ve built extra protection on our already easy-to-use, robust USB-based product that gives consumers a safe refuge from phishing, pharming, keystroke logging, and other cyber crimes that regularly assault us online, especially as we conduct financial transactions.”

New to ID Vault in 2008:
• Expanded ID Vault Trusted Network – The ID Vault Trusted Network now includes 500 top shopping sites in addition to more than 7,000 financial sites that are constantly monitored to validate the IP addresses and sign-in protocols of these legitimate, trusted sites. The ID Vault Trusted Network ensures that users are signing in to legitimate sites and not fraudulent copies designed to steal identities and perpetrate fraud.

• ID Vault Secure View ™ – Protects consumers against spyware and other Web browser-based threats when they conduct financial transactions online, ensuring that consumers are not prey to threats that exploit security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer and Firefox.

• Protection for credit card information – ID Vault 2008 encrypts and stores account numbers and billing information for up to 25 credit cards on the tamper-proof ID Vault USB token, so this sensitive information is never on a user’s computer, where it is vulnerable to theft. In addition, ID Vault automatically enters this credit card information at shopping cart check-out, eliminating typing and protecting personal financial information from keystroke loggers and other spyware.

• More power, More speed – ID Vault now stores usernames and passwords for up to 100 separate online accounts, and signs users in to their accounts up to 5x faster than before.

• ID Vault Control Center – This new consolidated management console lets users manage their ID Vault from one convenient place.

• More portable – ID Vault is now 30 percent smaller than before, with a more durable, easy-grip rubberized case. Consumers can take ID Vault with them and use it on any PC where ID Vault software is installed.
