Guard ID Systems Appoints Former McAfee Executive to Board of Directors
SAN MATEO, Calif. – January 7, 2008 - Guard ID Systems, Inc., the pioneer of hardware-based identity theft protection for consumer online transactions, today announced that Internet security executive Bill Kerrigan has joined its board of directors.
"Bill has had remarkable success in building leading consumer security subscription businesses,” said Jerry Thompson, CEO of Guard ID Systems. “Bill’s insights and experience will be tremendous assets in helping to guide Guard ID in the years ahead.”
“Guard ID has a tremendous opportunity to redefine the online identity theft protection market,” said Kerrigan. “I’m excited to work with Jerry and the other board members to help build on Guard ID’s market momentum as the first provider of hardware-based identity theft protection for consumers.”
Kerrigan was executive vice president at McAfee, where he was responsible for its $500 million global consumer business. During his time at McAfee, he grew online subscription revenue 367 percent and expanded the online subscriber base over 12 times, to more than 23 million subscribers.
Previous to his time at McAfee, Kerrigan co-founded Rebar, LLC, a $1 billion privately held operating and holding company, and parent company of Corporate Software, a global software reseller, software management and IT services provider. While at Rebar, he successfully integrated two acquisitions to form Shaman Corporation, an early software-as-a-service company. Prior to Rebar, Kerrigan held various leadership positions over a nearly twenty-year career with IBM.
Kerrigan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
